Wheathampstead is a thriving village surrounded by rolling countryside with history dating back to pre-Roman times. The High Street is in a conservation Area, incorporating St Helen's Church, the 13 th Century Bull Inn , the old mill and a variety of specialist retailers and general stores.
There are three primary schools including the private St.Albans Girls school, with secondary education being close by in Harpenden. Wheathampstead has many sports clubs including tennis and cricket. Golfers will not be disappointed with a superb choice of either The Lamerwood Country Club, the Mid Herts Golf Club and a ‘pay and play' golf course. The 543 acre Brocket Hall Estate has its own Golf Club with two championship standard courses, one designed by Peter Allis and the other by Donald Steel.
Wheathampstead's transport links are extremely good. It is well placed for access to the A1(M), approx. four miles away, and the M25 beyond. Junction 9 of the M1 is less than five miles away. There is a regular rail service from Harpenden's Thameslink station to King's Cross and the City with a journey time of under 30 minutes. Luton airport is approximately 6 miles away.
